Irmo community protest against ICE
IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– Here in the Midlands, community members held a protest opposing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Community members and advocates gathered together to protest the actions and policies of ICE.
The rally came in solidarity with protesters in Minneapolis, where locals there have organized against the takeover of their city following the deaths of Rene Goode and Alex Freddy.
Organizers say the protest is part of a broader national response to what they describe as a growing pattern of misinformation in intimidation and violence, all directed at immigrant communities and those who support them.
Julie Zimmerman, along with other organizers, hope for everyone in the community to join and do their part in whatever way possible.
