Survey: Investments affect view of economy

(CNN)– How invested you are in the stock market is probably impacting your view of the economy.

A University of Michigan consumer survey shows general sentiment is up this month.

The survey’s director says the positivity was fueled by people with the biggest stock portfolios.

It makes sense because the year kicked off with big gains in equities.

The market has shown remarkable resiliency in the face of several economic pressures and uncertainty.

It’s seen double digit growth in each of the past three years.
