(CNN)– The price of Bitcoin is in a sharp slump.

The New York Times reports that it’s raising concerns of a Crypto Winter.

The low morning is almost half the price at bitcoin’s peak.

It’s also below the cost when President Trump was elected in 2024.

Trump is a powerful supporter of cryptocurrency, and has been promising to boost it.

Ether and Solana also report declines this week, and the Gemini Exchange says it’s laying off staff.
