Local Living: Cola Animal Services reducing fees for VDay, Keep the Midlands Beautiful’s shoe drive, Shuckin’ on the Shoals
LOCAL LIVING: COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, in honor of Valentine’s Day, Columbia Animal Services is reducing their adoption fees this week.
Now through Saturday, adoptions are just $14 dollars.
The shelter is located on Humane Lane, and is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Keep the Midlands Beautiful has kicked off its annual shoe drive this month.
It runs through April 30.
You can donate new or gently worn shoes at their office on Augusta Road in West Columbia.
The drive helps raise funds to support the non-profit’s litter prevention, recycling, and beautification efforts.
Saluda Shoals Park is having their annual Shuckin’ on the Shoals event next week.
There will be an oyster roast, drinks, music, and more.
It takes place Saturday, February 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tickets must be purchased by Friday, Feb. 13, 2026.
It costs $80 for members and $100 for non-members.
