Columbia Police arrest woman in connection with laundromat shooting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday night.
Officers say at 6 p.m., a woman was found shot in the upper body area at the Wash World Laundromat on North Main Street across from the Valero Gas Station.
A 30-year-old woman identified as Tierra Kirby was arrested in connection with the Tuesday night, Feb .17 shooting.
The female victim remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation.
Kirby was charged with assault & battery of a high & aggravated nature, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
She is housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Also, officers found a weapon from the scene which will be processed for evidence.
