Deputies arrest 3 in connection with I-20 E homicide

 

 

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– RCSD Sheriff Leon says three people have been arrested in connection with the I-20 E homicide that took place on Monday.

Investigators say the three people were known to the victim who was identified as James W. Smith III.

Also, investigators say the incident was a targeted attack while Smith was traveling on I-20 during the early morning hours of February 23, 2026.

On Weds, February 25, RCSD’s Fugitive Task Force located Cedric Hollomon in Florence County and D’andre Burris in Lee County.

Both men were placed under arrest without incident.

On Thurs, February 26, the Fugitive Task Force located Gequanta Clea in Lee County, and placed him under arrest without incident.

Hollomon, Burris, and Clea are all charged with murder, and taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where they are awaiting a bond hearing.
