SC House passes Charlie Kirk road naming bill

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Thursday, March 5, the SC House of Representatives voted to name a portion of a road in the Upstate after slain Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk.

The measure, passed along party lines, calls for the SC Department of Transportation to name part of highway 76 in Laurens County the Charlie Kirk Memorial Highway.

Prior to the vote, Richland County Democratic Representative Hamilton Grant and other African-American lawmakers stood in opposition calling it a slap in the face.

The resolution will now move to the SC Senate.
