Gamecocks win season-opener, 49-15

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The South Carolina Gamecocks kicked off their 2018-2019 campaign with a 49-15 victory over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Saturday afternoon. This was the first time since 2014 that the Gamecocks began their season at Williams Brice Stadium.

Junior Quarterback Jake Bentley went 22-29 for 250 yards and four touchdown passes, while Rico Dowdle rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown.

That being said, Deebo Samuel stole the show by making a spectacular one-handed catch in the back of the end zone in the third quarter

South Carolina will host Georgia next weekend in a battle for SEC East supremacy.
