KCSO: Multiple arrested following Elgin drug, and animal cruelty investigation
KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) held a press conference on Tuesday afternoon to release information about a drug operation.
Deputies say during the execution of a search warrant at a home on Dixon Road, investigators seized a substantial quantity of illegal drugs.
Also, while securing the scene, deputies found 29 dogs and one pig living in severe conditions of neglect and mistreatment.
All of the animals were seized and moved to a secure location for emergency medical care and rehabilitation.
There are multiple counts of animal cruelty and neglect charges as well as possession with intent to distribute (PWID) and trafficking-related offenses in connection with the case.
Officials say the animals are at being taken care of at the Kershaw County Humane Society.
