Deputies respond to domestic violence incident
Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. Deputies say they responded to the 500 block of Rhine Falls Lane in the Northeast in reference to a barricaded suspect.
Deputies say Sandfarm Trail from Falls Ridge Lane to Swift Current Loop and all of Rhine Falls Lane is reopen.
On Friday, April 17, at about 1 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Rhine Falls Lane for a domestic violence incident.
Deputies spoke with the victim from a short distance from the location of the incident, says RCSD.
Preliminary information revealed that the suspect hit the victim in the face and strangled her.
The sheriff’s department say the victim’s injuries were consistent with an assault.
The victim also notified deputies that the suspect was armed but the firearm was not utilized during the incident.
Then deputies went to the incident location to place the suspect under arrest.
When no one answered the door RCSD’s SRT unit responded after getting a search warrant.
The home was cleared without finding the suspect inside, according to Richland Co. Sheriff’s Dept.
This is an ongoing investigation.
