Columbia Police investigating collision at local dealership

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police Department says officers are investigating a collision that happened earlier Monday.

Officers say an adult female driver experienced an apparent medical emergency while operating her vehicle on Monday, April 20, 2026.

The medical emergency caused her to leave the roadway and strike multiple vehicles on River Drive near a local Mazda dealership.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was reported to be alive at the time of transport, says Richland Co. Sheriff’s Dept.

No other injuries have been reported.

The incident remains an active investigation.
