84th commemoration of the Doolittle Raid canceled this weekend

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The 84th commemoration of the Doolittle Raid scheduled for this Saturday at the Skyline Club has been canceled.

Event officials cited last minute logistical issues would not make for a quality experience.

They also said they would not reschedule and instead focus on the 85th commemoration event next year.

The Doolittle Raid took place on April 18, 1942—marking America’s first retaliation against Japan after the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.
