Air Quality Alert issued for SC
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Officials with the SC Dept. of Environmental Services have issued an Air Quality Alert.
An agency spokesperson says the result was issued due to fine particulate concentrations caused by wildfires in Georgia.
Midlands counties impacted by the alert include Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda, and Sumter.
Officials say smoke from the fires is expected to affect the state through Thursday.
