Johnson Ready To Make Masters Run

(WOLO) — Irmo native Dustin Johnson says he is ready to win the first major tournament of his career. This week he gets a chance to do that close to home. The former Dutch Fork High School standout goes into the 2014 Masters 11th in the official world golf rankings. Johnson finished a career-best 13th at the 2013 Masters. Johnson says last week’s round of 80 that caused him to withdraw after the first day of the Houston Open isn’t a good representation of his improved golf game over the last six to eight months. DJ had taken three weeks off of competition before Houston. Johnson shot even par in Wednesday’s 9-hole Masters par three contest. He had his 8 and 5-year-old nephews caddy for him. His brother Austin will be on the bag the rest of the week in Augusta. Ryan Moore won Wednesday’s par three contest. He shot 6 under.
