Columbia Police respond to shots fired call in Colony Apartments area, 2 shot
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police officers are investigating a shooting after two people were shot on Bailey Street in the Colony Apartments area, say the dept.
Officers were initially dispatched to the location in reference to a report of shots fired.
While en route to the area, the call was updated to indicate that individuals had been struck by gunfire, according to Columbia PD.
Upon arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim sustained an injury to the leg, while the other was injured in the arm.
Their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening at this time, says CPD.
Preliminary information indicates that the shooting was not a random act.
Investigators are working the scene, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing available surveillance footage to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
This shooting remains an ongoing investigation.
