CRFD crews respond to shed fire

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– CRFD says first shift crews in Battalion 2 were called out to Hertford Drive Friday morning after fire tore through a shed.

Firefighters arrived to the area shortly after 10:30 a.m. to find the shed fully involved with two nearby properties being threatened.

Crews were able to quickly contain the fire and keep it from spreading, says the fire dept.

No one was injured but the shed was left a total loss.

The cause of the fire was due to unattended outdoor burning, says Columbia-Richland Fire Dept.

CRFD reminds people to keep an eye on any debris you plan to burn outdoors, and also have a water source on hand at all times.
