Jermaine Harris is accused of two nightclub shootings that happened in the early morning hours of May 10, 2026.

Deputies say Harris was identified as the person who fired the shots at Relapse Bar & Grill that was heard by a Forest Acres officer, and prompted additional units to respond.

Shooting into the air on that night started the chain of events that led to the officer-involved shooting, says the Richland Co. Sheriff’s Dept.

Law enforcement also say, that after the shooting at Relapse, just a couple hours later, around 5 a.m., Harris was involved in another shooting at Ole Place at 311 Two Notch Road.

Additionally, investigators say he was shooting into the air there as well.

Investigators contacted Columbia Police Department to advise that Harris was the suspect in both cases, and RCSD adopted the May 10 shots-fired case from CPD.

Ballistics and witnesses identified Harris.

Harris is accused of having in his possession a bag containing a pistol when he was taken into custody.

Ballistic testing determined this was the same gun used in both nightclub shootings.

Harris is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior conviction in 2014, for which he is currently on probation, according to RCSD.

“These senseless nightclub shootings demonstrate how alcohol and guns can be a deadly combination,” says Sheriff Lott.

He is being charged with two counts of aggravated breach of peace and unlawful possession of a firearm by person convicted of violent offense.

Furthermore he was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and granted a surety bond.

At this time, he is still detained, according to the sheriff’s dept.
