SCDPS: Memorial Day marks start of 100 Deadly Days of Summer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with the SC Department of Public Safety say Memorial Day marks the start of what they call the 100 deadly days of Summer.

Officials say during the same time period last year, nearly one out of every two people in fatal collisions in South Carolina did not wear a seat belt.

Over the next three days, law enforcement agencies will increase their presence in an effort to ensure everyone is wearing their seatbelt.
