Tax Deadline

(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., — Some people say it’s the most taxing time of the year, meeting the tax deadline. We saw dozens of cars lined up outside the Assembly street post office downtown Tuesday night as many of those in line rushed to beat the midnight deadline. Local tax preparer Jacqueline Johnson says they’ve been so busy at her Columbia office with last minute filers they’ve started offering incentives. Instead of closing at 9pm Tuesday they stayed open until midnight to help anyone who still had not field yet. Johnson says the good news is, if you are expecting a refund you will not face any penalties by not filing by midnight. If you do owe, you can file for an extension and you can even pay what you owe in a payment plan instead of all at once.
