Lexington Co. Coroner identifies person who died after moped incident
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a single-moped incident on last Thursday, said the coroner’s office.
The moped incident happened on last Thursday, May 21, around 9:45 a.m. in the 2400 Block of South Lake Drive.
According to Coroner Fisher, Michael Bailey Vines, 69, of Lexington, was traveling westbound on South Lake Drive when he left the right side of the roadway and was ejected off the moped.
Vines was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
