2 arrested in relation to Saturday morning shooting, say Orangeburg County Sheriff

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said deputies are investigating a Saturday morning shooting.

Investigators were called to the Crown Inn on Bamberg Road just before 10 a.m. after reports of a shooting.

Orangeburg County investigators said a 43-year-old black male was hit by gunfire and succumbed to his injuries.

As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested and arraigned in connection with the shooting.

Arron Ryant, 35, of Cordova, S.C. was charged with murder, burglary, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of certain crimes.

Demetresse Jenkins, 35, of Orangeburg was charged with murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
