Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman dies at 79

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman has died after more than three decades in office. He was 79.
Janice Summers with Caughman-Harman Funeral Home says Harman died Friday.
First elected in 1977, the longtime coroner had been in a care facility for a little over a year following a February 2013 car accident.
Authorities said that Harman had to be cut out of the wreckage of his SUV after it slammed into a parked tractor-trailer on a foggy roadway near Columbia Metro Airport.
Funeral arrangements have not been finalized.
