Drowning victim’s body recovered from Lake Wateree

KERSHAW CO., S.C. (WOLO) – South Carolina DNR officials say divers have recovered a body from Lake Wateree Thursday.

According to investigators, before 3 p.m., authorities responded to the lake off of Nautical Drive (The Sailing Club Area) for a report of a missing person in the water.

SCDNR says divers later recovered the body after 6 p.m.

The Kershaw County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity as of yet.

This investigation is ongoing.
