How you can join CPD to help children found in burning home

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– The Columbia Police Department is asking for the community’s help in aiding the three young children found in a burning home earlier this week.

Police say monetary donations as well as diapers, non-perishable food items, and clothing are welcome.

Police say donations can be brought to the Columbia Police Department at 1 Justice Square beginning Monday July 6th through Wednesday July 8th.

NEEDED ITEMS:
Clothing: While the children are 6, 4, and 2, they need slightly smaller sizes—so think smaller-fitting
outfits for each age. Include comfortable tops and bottoms suitable for everyday wear.
Pull-Ups (all ages): Each child will benefit from appropriately sized pull-ups. Consider a range of sizes
to ensure comfort and fit as needed.
Gift Cards: For flexibility, gift cards to local grocery stores, general retailers, or children’s stores will
allow caregivers to meet evolving needs.
Socks and T-Shirt Packs: New multi-packs of socks and plain T-shirts (again, on the smaller side) will
help keep them comfortable.
Nutritional Support: Non-perishable food items, especially nutritious snacks or easy-to-prepare meals,
will aid their recovery.
Hygiene & Personal Care: Child-friendly body wash, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste will help
maintain their well-being.
Self-Care Items: A few items for emotional comfort: plush toys, soft blankets, or small books.
