Gov. McMaster announces Sen. Lindsey Graham’s Sister Darline Graham Nordone as U.S. Senate appointment
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)- During a Monday evening press conference, Gov. Henry McMaster announced that Sen. Lindsey Graham’s Sister Darline Graham Nordone will serve out the rest of his term in the U.S. Senate.
The vacancy came after Sen. Lindsey Graham passed over the weekend in D.C.
A preliminary report from the D.C. Medical Examiner’s Office shows the 71-year-old suffered an aortic dissection as a result of heart disease.
According to officials, that occurs when the inner layer of the aorta wall tears and causes internal bleeding.
Senator Graham’s office confirmed his death early Sunday morning, July 12.
The governor also reflected on the life and service of the late senator during the July 13 press conference.
