Five vehicle collision cause freeway to close down, all lanes reopen

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– Irmo Fire Crews say a five vehicle collision caused the freeway to be closed down.

The collision happened westbound just before Piney Grove, exit 104.

Firefighters say the highway was closed down briefly to move the cars to the right shoulder and clean up the various car pieces.

Injuries were minor and nobody was taken to the hospital.

As of 12:10 p.m. July 17, all lanes are open with wrecked cars waiting for tow trucks in a couple of spots on the right shoulder.
