RCSD investigating jail stabbing incident that left two injured
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a jail stabbing incident that left two injured, say deputies.
On Thursday, July 16, around 11:30 a.m., deputies responded to 201 John Mark Dial Drive (Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center) in reference to an assault between two inmates.
Once deputies arrived to the jail, they were made aware that two inmates were in a physical altercation where both sustained stab wounds from manmade weapons, commonly known as shanks.
One inmate sustained a stab wound to the lower body area, while the other sustained a stab wound to the upper body area.
RCSD investigators are still working to determine what led to the altercation.
And no arrests have been made at this time.
