Wateree River correctional officer charged with inmate sexual misconduct

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– SCDC Inspector General says a Wateree River Correctional Institution correctional officer has been charged with sexual misconduct with an inmate.

Jazmin Alexis Teas, 25, of Columbia, was charged with first-degree sexual misconduct with an inmate, criminal conspiracy and misconduct in office.

Teas is accused of allegedly having a sexual relationship with an inmate and working with him to introduce contraband into the prison.

She was fired from her role as a correctional officer, says S.C. Department of Corrections.
