Fmr. Richland Co. Deputy accused of misusing Flock camera system

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)–Sheriff Leon Lott says former deputy Russell Kenton is accused of misusing the Flock system.
Flock cameras are AI operated security cameras that read and analyze license plate information.
Sheriff Lott says on July 24, it was discovered that Kenton used his access to the system to research information that was not for law enforcement purposes.
“I hold my deputies to a higher standard because of the trust our community places in them,” said Sheriff Lott. “Any act that violates that trust is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
Lott says Kenton was fired from his position as deputy and charged with Misconduct in Office.
