Partially burned body found in wooded area in Sumter Co.

SUMTER CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Sumter County deputies are investigating after finding a partially burned body Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say they responded to a report of human remains in a wooded area near Cedar Avenue and Industrial Road.

Upon arrival, investigators confirmed the male victim had been partially burned.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has been asked to assist with the investigation.
