Bills Take Watkins With #4 NFL Draft Pick

(WOLO) — Sammy Watkins is joining C.J. Spiller in the NFL. Buffalo traded a future 1st and 4th round draft pick to move up from the #9 pick to the #4 pick to select Watkins in the first round of the NFL draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York City Thursday night. Watkins is tied for the highest draft pick in Clemson history. Gaines Adams went 4th overall to Tampa Bay in 2007. Banks McFadden was the 4th pick in 1939. Watkins finished his Clemson career as the school’s leader in receptions and receiving yards. Former Tiger standout C.J. Spiller was the #9 pick by Buffalo in the 2010 draft. Spiller tweeted Thursday night, “WOW that pipeline of Clemson boys run deep in buffalo.” Defensive back Jonathan Meeks is also on the Bills roster.
