Men can now message 1st on Bumble

(CNN)– The online dating platform Bumble is betting that a shift in strategy will improve its bottom line.

Bumble was built on the idea that women should send the first message to men.

But now, after a massive stock decline, the platform is opening it up so all users can send that first message.

The company’s statement noted a survey of women of which 66% prefer men make first message contact.

Launched in 2014, Bumble went public in 2021 with stock prices reaching nearly $79 a share at their highest.
