Uber teams with up Zipline for Uber Eats drone delivery
(CNN)– Uber has announced a new partnership with drone-delivery company Zipline to get Uber Eats orders to customers faster.
The companies say the goal is to make one million drone deliveries a day by the end of 2029.
The first deliveries are expected by the end of this year in Zipline’s existing markets, with plans to expand to dozens of other U.S. cities.
Uber estimates the drones could reach customers within minutes.
The deal is part of Uber’s broader strategy of partnering with companies that develop autonomous technology, rather than building it all itself.
