Catching Up With Alshon

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (WOLO) — Alshon Jeffery made an appearance at the 2014 Black Expo Charity Golf Tournament Friday morning at Cobblestone Park Golf Club. The Gamecock great talks about his adjustment to life in the NFL, Jadeveon Clowney being the #1 overall draft pick, his St. Matthews roots and his brother, current Gamecock receiver Shamier. Jeffery had a breakout 2013 season, his second in the NFL. He had 89 catches for 1,421 yards and 7 TDs. The 1,421 receiving yards is the second-best season in Bears history. He set the Chicago record for most receiving yards in a single game twice: 218 yards in week 5 against the Saints, then 249 yards in week 13 against the Vikings. The former Calhoun County High School standout, who played at USC from 2009-11, holds Gamecock records for career receiving yards (3,042), career receiving touchdowns (23, tied with Sidney Rice), career 100-yard receiving yards (12), receiving yards in a season (1,517 in 2010), catches in a season (88 in 2010) and 100-yard receiving games in a season (8 in 2010).
