Officials provide update on MLILY plant fire effects

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County officials say first responder crews will remain on site until every hot spot is extinguished after MLILY plant fire.

Also, officials will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days and weeks.

Fairfield County officials say the main fire has been controlled and crews are working to get to the areas of the hot spots to extinguish them.

The EPA has been monitoring the air quality since 2:30 pm Monday, and there is no danger to anyone in close proximity to the facility.

But there will be lingering smoke coming from the facility.
