Cayce Police investigating fatal hit-and-run collision

CAYCE, S.C. (WOLO)– Cayce Police is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of a Cayce woman early Sunday morning, say police.

Officers say around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, officers responded in the 1800 block of Frink Street after a woman was hit by an unknown vehicle while walking in the area.

“Our thoughts are first and foremost with the victim and her loved ones as they navigate this devastating loss,” says Cayce Police Chief Bruce Wade. “Our investigators are working diligently to identify the vehicle and driver responsible. We are asking anyone with information, no matter how small they may think it is, to come forward and help us bring answers and accountability to this family.”

The woman died as a result of the collision, according to Cayce Police Department.

The department is asking anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have information that could assist investigators to contact law enforcement as the case continues to be open.
