Victim found injured in road dead after Monday morning shooting
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter Police is investigation a fatal shooting that happened Monday, say officers.

SPD says police responded to a shots fired call earlier today, Aug. 24, on East Charlotte Avenue around 11:45 a.m.
Officers responding to the call found a victim injured in the road in the Anne Park community.
Soon after, a vehicle Sumter Police say is connected to the shooting was spotted by officers before it crashed into a pole on Andrena Drive.
Right after the crash, two people inside got out and ran.
One of the suspects was located nearby and placed in custody.
The victim, 24, was taken to the local hospital where he died, says Sumter PD.
Officers are continuing efforts to identify and locate the second person who ran.
