Elementary school PTO president charged with breach of trust
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Lexington woman has been arrested after confessing to the misuse of Parent Teacher Organization funds at a Lexington County school, says the LCSD.

“We were notified by Carolina Springs Elementary School that Cassandra Jensen Hanvey confessed to using PTO funds for personal use,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon says. “She was the president of the CSES PTO.”
According to Sheriff Koon, Hanvey fraudulently spent more than $20,000 between June 2023 and June 2026.
Hanvey, 36, was charged with breach of trust, according to the arrest warrant.
She turned herself in and was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center Sunday morning, August 23.
Also, she was released on a personal recognizance bond Monday, August 24.
