MLILY Factory to permanently close Friday following fire; 254 jobs eliminated
WINNSBORO, S.C. (WOLO) – The owners of the mattress factory that burned down earlier this month will shut its doors permanently, leaving hundreds of employees without a job.
Healthcare SC, LLC, the owner of the MLILY Factory, filed the WARN report with SC Department of Employment and Workforce on August 21.
The report says the building will permanently close Friday, leaving 254 employees out of a job.
This comes after the fire broke out on Sunday, August 16, which reignited the next day.
Authorities say the fire has since been put out but the investigation continues.
