(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., — The RIchland County Commission Board’s Interim Director Samuel Selph may be determined not to repeat the past, but some Richland County residents say forgetting the 2012 -2013 election debacle is almost impossible. The long lines greeting thousands at the polls, inoperable and in some cases too few machines, right down to uncounted absentee ballots. Major mistakes Selph is assuring voters will not happen this time around. “we will not have a a problem at our field operations. we will not have a problem with our internal operations. we have done all sorts of checks and balances.” including – 25 new precincts and newly trained volunteer poll workers to fully mann them. selph says they’ve also performed preventative maintenance on more than a thousand machines so each precinct will have more than the state required 1 machine per 250 voters. says he’ s more at ease knowing it’s not. but admits there’s no such thing as a perfect election. as a perfect election but election officials say they are leaving no stone unturned and no vote uncounted. The Primary Race is June 10th.
