Richland County Deputies: 75 year old man accused in murder, attempted murder

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Richland County Deputies arrested a man accused of multiple shootings that left one woman dead and another injured.
According to Sheriff Leon Lott, 75-year-old Donald Wheeler is charged with several crimes including murder and attempted murder.
According to investigators, they found a woman shot on Palmetto Park Circle Monday. She survived and was taken to the hospital.
Deputies say they then conducted a welfare check on Reseda Drive and found a second woman who had been shot to death.
According to deputies, a third woman said Wheeler went to her home on Koon Store Road and tried to shoot her but the gun was out of ammo.
Wheeler was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn detention center.
