Richland County Deputies: 9 year old brings knife to elementary school

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Richland County Deputies say a child brought a knife to Annie Burnside Elementary school Tuesday.
According to investigators, the school resource officer responded to a 9-year-old girl that brought out the knife in the cafeteria with the intent to harm other kids.
Deputies say one of the children sustained a small cut to the upper body but did not require medical treatment.
The knife was taken from the child.

Deputies say they spoke with the 9-year-old’s parent. The investigation continues.
