Gamecock Hoops Gets Baton Rouge Big Man

(WOLO) — Baton Rouge big man James Thompson will officially sign with Gamecock basketball Thursday afternoon. His school, Parkview Baptist, made the announcement Wednesday. The 6-foot-9-inch Thompson was a two-time all-state selection in Louisiana. As a senior, he averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots per game. Thompson joins Keenan standout point guard Marcus Stroman, Georgia shooting guard TeMarcus Blanton and Brooklyn small forward Shameik Sheppard as this year’s new class of Gamecocks. Frank Martin is entering his third season in charge of USC basketball. He has a 28-38 record with the Gamecocks.
