Driver dead following Lexington County wreck

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Highway Patrol says a driver is dead following a wreck in Lexington County Sunday.

It happened at U.S. Highway 321 near the intersection of Woodcote Drive before 3 in the morning, Sunday, October 11.

According to investigators, the driver of a Chevy Tahoe ran off the left side of the road, went down an embankment and overturned.

The driver died at the scene.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office identified the person as Fidel Gongora Martinez, 18, of Columbia.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
