Oil, gas drilling to begin in Greenland, President Trump claims

(CNN)– President Trump claims, “massive oil, gas and mineral exploration” is about to happen in Greenland.

His social media post just after midnight Wednesday, October 14 doesn’t go into detail.

Greenland is an autonomous part of Denmark.

That country and the U.S. have a new agreement aimed at resolving Trump’s threats to annex the island.

According to text, the White House published it acknowledges “cooperation” involving minerals and economic development.

Greenland’s government is pushing back on President Trump’s statement.
