COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Cola Fire third shift crews responded to a house fire on Wednesday night, say fire officials.

According to Columbia-Richland Fire Dept., Engine 13 arrived to a home on Cleveland Street in Columbia shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 14.

A 360-degree size-up of the property was completed and fire venting from a window with black smoke pushing was reported, says CRFD.

Firefighters deployed attack lines and began fire suppression, resulting in a rapid knockdown and containment of the fire.

Crews were also able to conduct a quick search of the home and confirm that all occupants had safely escaped prior to their arrival.

Firefighters say the family’s pets were also brought safely out of the home.

The fire was contained to one room within the house.
