Columbia Police Department to hold special fundraiser to honor officer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Columbia Police Department is holding a special fundraiser to honor Officer David Dymock.

The event will take place this Sunday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Finlay Park.

The department says Officer Dymock demonstrated extraordinary courage while protecting the community alongside fallen Lance Corporal Chris Delong.

29-year-old Delong was killed during a shooting on August 29 in southeast Columbia.

Officer Dymock also sustained injuries during the incident.

Dymock family day will feature a chili cook-off, corn-hole, and music.
