USPS preps for election day
(CNN)– The U.S. Postal Service is preparing to implement what it calls extraordinary measures to ensure ballots are delivered on time.
It begins Saturday, October 24, and the extraordinary measures mostly take place behind the scenes.
They involve specialized sorting and handling of mail that is identified as ballots.
Special pick-ups are also included.
USPS recommends voters get their ballots in the mail at least a week before the date they must be received.
