Columbia Police investigating two unrelated shooting incidents
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that happened on Tuesday, say police.
Police say two individuals are injured after a shooting that took place Tuesday night, October 20 after 6 p.m.
Around 6:19 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, CPD officers responded in the 2200 block of Bailey Street following reports of a person shot.
Upon their arrival to the scene, officers located one individual suffering from a gunshot wound in the foot.
Officers rendered medical assistance before the victim was taken to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, says CPD.
The circumstances surrounding this shooting remain under investigation.
Later that evening, around 7:11 p.m., CPD officers with assistance from the Richland Co. Sheriff’s Dept responded in the 1100 block of Clemson Frontage Road following reports of a second shooting.
Upon law enforcement’s arrival, officers located one person suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.
As a result of the investigation, Harvey Louis Kinsler Jr., 28, was arrested in connection with the Clemson Frontage Road shooting.

Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between individuals known to one another, says Columbia PD.
Officers say while an arrest has been made in the Clemson Frontage Road shooting, investigators are continuing to determine the full circumstances surrounding both incidents, including the number of individuals involved and what led to the gunfire.
CPD has confirmed that the two shootings are not connected.
