Air Canada to charge customers for phone bookings

(CNN)– Saying “representative” enough times on Air Canada’s phone menu will cost you.

The airline has started charging a fee for reservations booked with a live human to the tune of $30.

And that’s per ticket, so if you’re buying a pair of seats, prepare to shell out $60.

Also, this fee is non-refundable, even if you cancel the ticket.

Air Canada made the change because it wants customers to use its website or app for to book flights.

There are a few exceptions.

Passengers who need special care like wheelchair assistance will not be charged.
